Key word: teaching in Singapore; Singapore independent school ; vacancy; SAP school; job opportunity;career chance;employment opportunity;recruitment

Most subjects in Singpore schools are taught in English except mother tongue subjects. If you can teach Chinese, Malay or Tamil, you may apply to be a mother tongue teacher. For other subjects, you need to be able to teach in English.

A. Government schools

Most Singapore schools are government schools. If you wish to teach in these schools, you will need to apply to MOE (ministry of Education) directly:

http://www.moe.gov.sg/teach/Applications.htm

There are two types of application forms:

1. Without Teaching Qualifications
If you have a good degree, you may apply to get training in National Institute of Education, to get a teaching diploma. Singapore government will pay your fee, but you will need to teach for at least 3 years after that.

2. With Teaching Qualifications
If you have a good degree and a teaching diploma, you may apply to be a teacher without any other training. MOE will arrange for an interview. If they are satisfied, they will sign a contract with you and arrange for a posting.

B. Independent schools
Singapore government has made some top schools independent schools. You may apply to these schools for a job directly.

* This page listed Dunman High as a "private school". I think it is a mistake. Dunman High is an autonomous school. Both Independent schools and Autonomous schools are supported by government funds. They are not private schools. To my knowledge, one can only teach in an autonomous school through MOE posting.
