暴力干政　林冠英：霹民主死亡

（槟岛西南区8日讯）槟州首席部长林冠英今日斥国阵政府违背承诺及民主制度，让警方侵犯及干涉霹雳州议会过程，指该州民主已死亡，演变成警察州。

他说，州议会是民主制度里最高的机构，但是霹雳州周四的议会却遭到警方侵犯，同时在现场动粗，以暴力对付堂堂正正中选的州议员，同时干涉整个会议过程，证明霹雳州民主已经死亡。

“国阵政府之前承诺将会做出改革，但是从霹雳州的事件看来，他们已经违背了诺言及民主制度。”

他呼吁人民与民联站在一起，挽救大马的民主及未来，同时确保大马的民主制度是让人民真正当家做主，而不是国阵的"你民我主"。

他今日出席一项记者会上针对霹雳州周四发生的事情，做出如是回应。他说，对于该州所发生的事情感到非常伤心，并形容这是一场悲剧。

“一向来，我们反对肤色歧视，但是大马却已经不是仅有肤色歧视，现在连穿什么颜色的衣服也会遭受对付，实在荒唐及离谱。”

穿黑衣被对付　沦为国际笑柄

他反问，难道现在黑色已经变成大马“禁色”，穿黑衣也被对付这个事件，已经沦为国际的笑柄。

他了解到整个事情的发生令到霹雳州人民很愤怒，全马人民也感同身受，人民的选择已经被剥夺，对国阵政府感到非常失望。

他指出，308大选及补选都已经显示出人民要改变，但是国阵在霹雳州的事件上，显示他们没有改变的心，而是继续他们的霸权主义，所谈及的改革只是留在唇边。

他希望人民能与民联同站在一阵线，确保所选择的政府是以民为本，而不是为了小撮人赚钱及发财。

李枂洙：沦为国际笑柄　507是最黑暗一天

（北海8日讯）人民公正党全国妇女组中委兼巴都加湾区部宣传主任李枂洙博士强烈谴责国阵滥权操纵霹雳州议会官员强行连人带椅将当时还穿着议长长袍的民联议长西华古玛抬出州议会厅、暴力致伤民联州议员，并操纵警察全面封锁州政府大厦和毗邻的13条道路造成交通阻塞、及逮捕在州政府大厦附近包括民联国州议员的60 余名无辜百姓。

李枂洙说，5月7日是马来西亚最黑暗的一天，霹雳州议会史前无例的武力大混乱，不但让政宪危机更加恶化，更让人民大开眼界见证了国阵尚属推荐阶段的KPI 。

国阵滥用国家资源肆意妄为导致霹州政局变天、再炮制出“双胞大臣”与“双胞议长”的连环闹剧，已为马来西亚历史掀开了新的丑陋一页， 也为绊倒我国民主发展再次成为国际的笑柄。

李枂洙除了奉劝国阵依循民意解散州议会举行改选，还政于霹州子民，同时也呼吁警方马上释放只因鼓励人民在5月7日当天穿黑衣而遭扣押的独立撰稿人黄进发和所有因霹州政宪危急而被捕的人士。

13名知识分子声援黄进发

【本刊记者撰述】杜乾焕等13名公共知识份子连署声援上周二（5月5日）遭警方援引《1948年煽动法令》逮捕及扣留的政治学者兼社运人士黄进发，呼吁政府莫提控他；他们认为，既然首相纳吉强调“以民为本”，政府就该尊重民意，重选霹雳州政府，以破解霹雳州僵局。

I am intrigued why in some case, it takes months or even years, when, in the above situation and case, it only took several hours for a panel to be set up. “Why the double standards? “The man who steals a loaf of bread has to rot in jail for months before his case is even heard. The rationale behind this and the usual excuse is that there is backlog of cases.”

Appeal court to hear Nizar’s application only on May 18

PUTRAJAYA, May 13 – The Court of Appeal will hear next Monday Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin’s application to set aside its order made yesterday to suspend the High Court decision that he is the lawful mentri besar of Perak.

Nizar’s lawyers had filed the application together with a certificate of urgency at about 2.30pm today.

They also included a request for a panel of three judges to hear the case.

The two junior lawyers, who are based in Ipoh, had earlier rushed to the Palace of Justice here which houses the appellate court, after getting Nizar’s signature for his affidavit of support, which is required to be included in his application.

However, they were made to wait over one and a half hours for the Court of Appeal registrar to get a hearing date fixed.

Zambry had failed on Monday to get a stay of the High Court’s ruling, which had immediately reinstated Nizar as the MB.

High Court judge Datuk Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahim had rejected a verbal request from Zambry’s chief counsel Datuk Cecil Abraham to stay its declaration favouring Nizar.

Justice Abdul Aziz had agreed with Nizar’s lead lawyer Sulaiman Abdullah that there were no authorities to support their request.

But he advised them to research the matter and put in a formal written application at the High Court registrar.

Zambry’s lawyers had yesterday filed his appeal together with a request to stay the High Court ruling at about 9.30am.

They succeeded in getting a hearing with Court of Appeal judge Datuk Ramly Ali just two hours later.
